About the Artist
I am an internationally published fine art photographer based in Texas. I tend toward sharp, clean, representative images. Sometimes they vary into unstable images, as creative license might demand. My subjects often include abstracts, musical instruments, flowers, and nature in general. Themes tend toward emotionally evocative, mystical, and graphic images, prompting a multifaceted feel. I like closeup images and resort to that type photograph in many of my works.
I get asked about where I get inspiration. That is a difficult question. Ideas come to me. I can be working on a project and a completely unrelated image will pop into my head almost complete. After I see the image in my mind, it becomes just a matter of finding a way to put the lighting, models, camera, backgrounds, and other individual parts together.
I was born in Athens, Texas a long time ago. As a boy, I discovered music. In my mid-twenties, I was performing with the US Air Force Band. Preparing to be stationed in Japan, a friend loaned me a good camera. That old Leica camera began a life-long love affair with photography and the visual arts. I am a multiple year graduate of the Texas School of Professional Photography, a member of the Texas Professional Photography Association, a member of the Professional Photographers of America, and I am a Certified Professional Photographer.
I seriously THANK YOU for your interest in my art. A part of the artist goes with every work.
